Why I Started Ancestor’s Hands

People see the soaps, the body washes, and the labels. They see the finished products. What they don’t always see is the story behind them.

Ancestor’s Hands wasn’t started because I wanted to sell soap. It was started because I wanted to build something that could change my family’s future.

There was a time in my life when my path looked completely different. I made mistakes, paid for them, and spent four years in prison. I could have allowed my past to define the rest of my life, but I made a decision that my future would be stronger than my past.

When I came home, I wanted to build something with purpose—something my family could be proud of and something that could one day create opportunities for other people.

The name Ancestor’s Hands came to me in a dream. To me, it represents the strength, resilience, and sacrifice of those who came before us. They survived hardships so future generations could have opportunities they never had. Every time I make a product, I’m reminded that I’m continuing a legacy of perseverance.

I chose to create handcrafted skincare because I believe people deserve products made with quality ingredients and genuine care. Every bar of soap, every bottle of body wash, and every product that leaves my hands represents my commitment to excellence.

But this business is about more than skincare.

It’s about creating freedom. Freedom to spend more time with my family. Freedom to be present for my daughter. Freedom to build a life where I control my time instead of letting a clock control me.

It’s also about proving that your past does not have to determine your future. No matter where you’ve been or what you’ve been through, you can choose to rebuild. You can choose discipline over excuses. You can choose consistency over comfort.

My vision goes beyond selling products online. One day, I want this business to help fund community centers that give young people opportunities, mentorship, and hope. I want them to see that success is possible, regardless of where they start.
